Research project:
RISK OF FALL ASSESSMENT AND MITIGATION

The number of falls in the elderly population is in constant growth. This increase is accompanied by a worsening in living conditions, with higher social and economic costs, on the part of both the individual and the community.
This project on fall prevention was born out of this consideration.
It consists of a stratified randomized clinical study whose principal objectives are the assessment of the efficacy of the Riva static Test as a predictor of risk of fall and the evaluation of the effects of a cycle of high frequency proprioceptive reprogramming or a cycle of training sessions on the treadmill at various speeds, on the number of falls and on the number of possible negative events.
The population is composed of individuals of both sexes, between the ages of 65 and 84, able to walk without aid and not affected by non-stabilized illnesses or pathologies.
The project provides for the subdivision of the population in two functional strata based on the results of the initial assessment.
All subjects are retested at 12 and 24 months after the first evaluation.
